TRANSCABLU S.R.L. was founded in 1990 by Dr. Eng. Petre POPA (1932 - 1993), the planner of almost all ropway installations from Romania.

        In 1965 from the initiative of Dr. - Eng. Petre POPA was founded in Brasov, the first and the only Ropeway Installations Design Office in the country as part of "Proiect Brasov" Institute. Dr. - Eng. Petre POPA designed in the course of his activity more than 75 km of ropeway installations of all types, installations that can transport today in Romania 35.000 persons per hour in 8 reversible cable-cars, 1 gondola and more than 50 chairlifts and skilifts.

        At the present day the company is managed by Dipl.-Eng Petre POPA -jr., specialist in ropeway installations, snowmaking systems and planning of ski areas.

        The main activity fields of Transcablu SRL are planing of chairlifts, gondolas and reversible cable-cars, ski slopes design, snowmaking systems design, feasibility studies and ski-area development studies, skilifts and baby-skilifts design, relocation planning of skilifts.

TRANSCABLU S.R.L. is ISO 9001 certified for the following field of activities: design and feasibility studies of cableway installation designed to carry passengers and goods (ropeways, ski lifts, chairlifts, gondolas, reversible cablecars), ski runs, artificials snowmaking systems; consulting and studies fot the development of mountain areas.
